PARIS. FASHION. WEEK. There is not much more to add. The City of Lights becomes brighter and more glamorous during what is arguably the highlight of the fashion week season. Below are our favourite AW14 collections. Take a look and enjoy!

The AW14 Balmain collection is a mash-up of exotic glamour and exuberant style with strong safari and hip-hop influences. Cargo jackets and pants, leopard and zebra prints, leather pieces embellished with cords and chains, lamb’s fur in yellow and orange were the highlights of a strong and diverse collection.

The Chanel AW14 collection took us to a très chic Chanel Shopping Center. This amazingly detailed set was an ironic celebration of consumerism as well as a critique of pop culture.  The result was an amazing show in terms of location, collection and entertainment. Models walked down the aisle of the supermarket wearing cosy and chic outfits: bubble gum pink roll neck crop and sweatpants, tweed baggy jumpsuits and colourful coats all paired with iridescent kicks – because who goes to the supermarket in high heels – made this collection effortlessly wearable.

Chloé has always stood for French laid-back elegance combined with boyish elements, but the texture of the silhouettes was the focus of the AW14 collection. Simple but effective cuts, loose shapes and sophisticated garments became a little wilder thanks to the addition of abstract prints and wild cat furs.

Lanvin AW14 collection is extreme, extravagant and dramatic. Ruffled and fringed pieces in black and white opened the show followed by leather and fur looks that later ceded the stage to more simple and chic silk dresses. This collection was a journey where the woman liberated herself form orthodox elements to become the real her.

Riccardo Tisci nailed it again with a fantastic AW14 collection for Givenchy. The looks celebrate the French bon ton and feminine elegance. Soft printed sheer dresses interspersed with bolder printed floaty dresses were in contrast with more robust tailoring expressed with high wasted trousers with bold contrast color pockets, and beaded bodices.

Miu Miu collection was real, wearable and fresh. Miuccia  Prada always knows how to take a seemingly ordinary garment and create something fascinating. Her AW14 collection manages to make the parka the must have of next season, whether it is belted, quilted, or plastic.
