Alta Roma Alta Moda took place from the 12th to the 16th of July in Complesso Monumentale Santo Spirito in Sassia. Established couture houses as well as emerging creativites showcased their Haute Couture AW15 & SS15 Collections in Rome, at several of its most emblematic locations. Here below check out our favorite designers of this Alta Roma Alta Moda edition.

San Andrès Milano SS15 Collection is inspired by the cities of Rome and Mexico City, both very close to the designer. Bold color combos and graphic elements such as stripes and checks are a tribute to the 60’s. Large proportions and volumes are predominant on the catwalk, reminescing the Dolce Vita style. Fabrics with different and contrasting textures such as silk mikado, organza and lace intermingle harmonically creating a vibrant optical effect.

The AW15 Sarli Couture Collection is about femininity, casual lightness and simplicity. The A-line shape is prevalent in short day-time dresses as well as in evening gowns. Elegant ponchos, tiny pea coats and short kimonos give a fresher and bolder tone to the collection. Basic shades of pink, powder light blue and gray are the dominant colors with which ornamental materials such as glass rods, synthetic stones and rhinestones appliqued in the same tone make the designs delicate and sophisticated.

Women’s metamorphosis through numerous moments in her life, dawn till dusk, youth to maturity, etc are the source of inspiration in Rani Zakhem’s Autumn Winter 2014/15 Collection. The color palette goes from shades of pink, red, fuschia evoking the dawn, and ends with gold metallic tones of a magical sunset. The opulent fabrics, sumptuous embroideries and sensual shapes make this collection classic, luxurious and seductive.

The Greta Boldini SS15 Collection explores four different worlds: the cinema of David Lynch with his master piece Mulholland Drive, the incontrovertible glamour of Sofia Coppola, the melodic tales of Lana Del Rey and, finally, the awe-inspiring paintings of Hopper. The colour palette is vibrant and suave, dominated by icy neutral colours like ivory, egg white and hazelnut, green-mint, metallic bronzes and blacks. Materials play with weight, including intangibile charmeuse or silk twill, the sophisticated see-through textures of organzas, shiny viscose and silk crepes.

This edition of Altaroma consolidates the growing partnership between the Ethical Fashion Initiative and Stella Jean which developed just over a year ago. Stella’s unique interpretation of fashion is vivid and relevant in each collection. African prints, pop colors, bold stripes, boysh looks combined with feminine cuts are all distinctive signatures of Stella’s designs. Stella’s collection features newly-developed accessories from Africa and Haiti.
